Z test for Binomail Data

Does ztest function work with binomial data? For example, I have a set of x = (1, 0, 0, 1, ...o, 1, 1) for n(x) = 1000. probability, p = 0.5, x has 700 times of '1' and 300 times of '0' Can I use ztest to compare with hypothesis mean = 0.5?
