Mathworks product installer says unable to connect to mathworks (connection error)

When I try to install MATLAB R2021b, and run the installer, I get an error message saying:
connection error: unable to connect to mathworks.
I tried to disable and completely remove the antivirus and I am also not using any proxy. I am using the institutional access that my university provides. Despite trying my best i cant seem to figure out whats wrong.
I also checked previous threads and tried out their solutions, on multiple networks also, to make sure that it was not an error of simply just changing the network. It would be great if someone can help me out

Hello Samarth,
It is my understanding that you are facing “connection error” while installing MATLAB R2021b.
