Error occurred in executing External Mode

I have a model in Matlab 2011a which uses RTWT block packet input/ packet output to access COM port. I could successfully build the model but when i try to connect it to target it then throws following error:
Error occurred while executing External Mode MEX-file 'rtwinext': Error getting initial EXT_CONNECT_RESPONSE packet
