Use zoom in/out and left/right arrows with ginput

Hello,
I would like to be able to scroll through very long plots by zooming in/out and using the left right arrows, while being able to select data points and save their coordinates. I have tried many different solutions found in other posts but can't seem to get all functionalities working together. I would like to use the left and right arrows keys to go left and right on the plot, any pair of keys to zoom in and out of the plot, and the mouse left key to select data points and have their coordinates be saved in a variable (for example using ginput() or a data cursor object.

I have exactly this problem. A very long time series, and picking series of points with the mouse while I pan through time.

I copy the scrollmotion callback in fucntion zoom to 'ginput' and it can work. You can have a try.
