Simulink project /resources folder tracking on git

I created a Simulink project which is already pushed to a feature branch on github. I am ready to merge back to master and created a pull request. The reviewers asked me to eliminate the xml files in the /resources folder with the long random names. They seems like simulation artifacts but when I tried to delete them I was not able to open the project.
Is there a way to figure out which file is needed for the project in the /resoureces folder and possibly assign a meaninful name to them?
