Communicating with external hardware

Hi everybody,
I am trying to communicate to external hardware using 'tmtool', and, even though my computer itself does recognize the external device for I can operate it from computer, Matlab cannot recognize it.
Does anyone know how to 'begin' communicating with external hardware?
More specifically, the external hardware I am working with is an LED driver purchased from Thorlabs, DC2100. And it is connected to my computer via a USB port, all other related software from Thorlabs have been downloaded, and Visa-runtime engines installed, 14.0.2 version.

Did you the analogue input solution :
out=daqhwinfo;
Info=out.InstalledAdaptors;
AI = analoginput('adaptor',ID);
