Are you trying to insert the equation for a graphic? Then you can go to the Insert tab, click Equation and select LaTeX Equation as Sahithi Metpalli mentioned in the link you provided. Are you trying to do something else?

It is nice to know that the box size can be changed. More generally one would hope to have direct support like R Notebook http://web.vu.lt/mif/a.buteikis/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/R_Notebook_example.html
