I would like to delete every second element of this cell array, how can I do this?

@Bjorn Gustavsson: You are right. So I'm a victim of this unreadable block of numbers. Compare:

X= [1, 2; ...
    1, 3; ...
    1, 4; ...
    1, 5];

This would have been sufficient.

If you want to delete every odd row you do this:

X(1:2:end,:) = [];

If you want to delete every even element you do this:

X(2:2:end,:) = [];

@Monalisa Chikezie: Don't start guessing. Read carefully: The message tells you to use the == operator, if you want to compare values. But you do not want to compare values. Then there is no reason to use ==. The problem is here:
