HOW CAN I DEAL WITH NEGATIVE VALUS I AM RECEIVING AFTER PERFORMING DECOMPOSITION

I have performed periodic plus smooth decomposition on u.. Now i am getting p and s as periodic , smooth component. But they contain negative values which is creating problem in further calculation....what should i do now?

Ran in:
Threshold them?
x=[-2 -1 0 1 2 3]
x = 1×6
-2 -1 0 1 2 3
xpos=max(x,0)
xpos = 1×6
0 0 0 1 2 3
