Creating a hammer projection

Hi there, I'm currently trying to create a hammer projection. I have the latitude vector, longitude vector, and the value I want to put at these particular lat and lons. I have used the axesm command to pre-create a hammer map. However I am struggling to find the correct command that would allow me to place the value I want at the lat and lon locations. Sorry if this sounds confusing. Thanks in advance.
