Plot with points as hollow circles without line through them

I am trying to recreate this plot in MATLAB. This is what I have so far.
I was wondering how to make the circle points not have the lines through them as shown in the first plot. Thank you

Ran in:
One way is to color the inside of the marker white.

x=0:0.1:2*pi;
plot(x,sin(x),'o-', 'MarkerFaceColor', 'w')
