Using OpenCV with Matlab

Hello,

I am currently in a class using matlab for digital image processing. The course is currently moving onto using opencv with matlab. I have watched the opencv video here, but I am still quite confused.

I have downloaded all the required packages (I believe) and am now ready to implement opencv in matlab. However, I am lost on how to get started.

The overall goal is to use the opencv code for the sobel function inside matlab so that I can flexibly use the opencv sobel function in specified ROIs, etc.

Can anyone help me better understand how I use opencv? Currently it seems like I am stuck trying to use opencv within matlab. Any help is greatly appreciated!
