Simulink takes a long time to create blank model

I just installed my MATLAB. I already encountered the problem of slow loading but got over this by running it from the cmd window with the flag for the license file. But then when I started Simulink and chose 'create blank model', it took a long time for the blank model to appear. The circle just kept rolling and rolling.
I'm wondering if this is related to the problem of slow loading of MATLAB.
Is there any workaround to overcome the slow Simulink?
