Compiled app startup splash screen display

When starting compiled app, the splash screen comes up for a (very) brief time, then goes black -- but it takes quite a long time from that point until the GUI is made visibile...leaving the user wondering if anything is happening -- no progress spinny wheel, no "Please standy...", no nuthin' but blank screen.
Anyway to fix this so the user can tell it's just painfully slow and not crashed so they don't keep trying to start more copies?
It's also pretty slow in getting the splash screen up, but not excruciatingly so...

The <following> (from 2016 with the Answer/Comment just a month ago) didn't pop up in my meager looking before posting seems to answer the Q?.
Unfortunately it appears insoluble at the moment but TMW definitely needs to find a cure...
