I've been using 2022b for about 6 months without issue. Using App Designer the auxilliar side panels don't show up in either Code or Design Views.
Did some online trouble shooting with MATLAB support. Ticket has been opened. The support person opined that the underlying issue may involve the transition to Java desktop.

Hi Richard.
It's difficult to pinpoint the exact cause of the issue you're experiencing without more information, but I can provide you with some possible reasons why the auxiliary side panels are not showing up in MATLAB App Designer for both Code and Design views:
  1. Graphics driver issues: Sometimes, graphics driver incompatibilities or outdated drivers can cause display issues with MATLAB, especially when working with GUIs. You can try updating your graphics driver or, if possible, try using a different graphics driver to see if that resolves the issue.
  2. Java-related issues: As the support person mentioned, the transition to the Java desktop could be causing this problem. There might be incompatibilities between the version of Java being used by MATLAB and the App Designer. You can try reinstalling MATLAB or updating your Java installation to see if it resolves the issue.
  3. User settings: Your MATLAB user settings might have become corrupted, causing issues with the display of the auxiliary side panels in App Designer. You can try resetting your MATLAB preferences to their default values.
