Why do some reference models allow data logging but not others

I currently have a root Simulink model and 3 referenced variant subsystems. Logging of signals works in two of the subsystems but not in the third. What could the reason be?
They are all set to run in accelerator mode. The logging of signals and buses in the third subsystem works only if the system is run as the root system. All have 'send logged data to data inspector' enabled.

Is it possible for you to share the Simulink Models? If not the original models, sample models where this behaviour can be reproduced?
