How can I disable autohide toolstrip for script files?

10 次查看(过去 30 天)
I use my scripts undocked so that I can go full screen on the script file only, but when I go fullscreen on the script, the toolstrip automatically hides itself and I have to always move my mouse to the top part of my screen to reveal the toolsttip again.
Is there a way I can disable this auto-hide toolstrip feature for the script files it is very annoying.
I am using Matlab R2020a on a Mac

Hi Raman,
I understand that you want to disable the auto-hide toolstrip feature for the script files.
In MATLAB R2020a on a Mac, the auto-hide feature of the toolstrip can be disabled by following these steps:
  1. Launch MATLAB R2020a on your Mac.
  2. Go to the "Home" tab in the toolstrip, which is located at the top of the MATLAB window.
  3. Click on the gear icon (settings icon) at the right end of the toolstrip. This will open the "MATLAB Toolstrip Preferences" window.
  4. In the "MATLAB Toolstrip Preferences" window, go to the "General" section.
  5. Under the "General" section, you will see an option called "Auto-hide" with a checkbox next to it. Uncheck this checkbox to disable the auto-hide feature of the toolstrip.
  6. Click on the "Apply" button to save the changes.
  7. Close the "MATLAB Toolstrip Preferences" window.
After following these steps, the toolstrip in MATLAB R2020a should no longer auto-hide when you go full screen on a script file, allowing you to use it without needing to reveal it by moving your mouse to the top part of the screen.

Hello Sugandhi,
Unfortunately this does not solve my problem, I do not have the "Auto-Hide" checkbox under "General" in the settings (the gear icon). I have attached a picture of what my settings looks like under "General".

Mr. Raman,
Respond if I am correct:
  1. You are using the editor tab undocked as an individual window.
  2. In that indivudual window the "Home" tab is autohiding.
  3. You want to pin the "Home" tab?

I tried to look for the pin that you are talking about but could not find any. I have attached how my screen looks in full screen mode. The toolstrip in the image is after I move the mouse to the top to reveal it.

I'm also having this issue and pinning the toolstrip when you have your workspace undocked does nothing. It is one of the most frustrating issues I've delt with relating to matlab.
