mclmcrrt7_14 error

Hi, I'm getting error while using a software which requires MCRInstaller.exe. But it won't work with the latest version of matlab. It's asking for Version 7.14.

That version is old enough that there are different rules for it.
  • you can get that mcr by installing the appropriate MATLAB version with MATLAB Compiler product. If you licenced for MATLAB Compiler for any release after the one for mcr714 then the newer license entitles you to use the old. Note that Student licences have never been eligible to install MATLAB Compiler, so this approach could require purchasing a new full-price MATLAB license
  • otherwise, if you do not have an appropriate MATLAB licences, then you must obtain mcr714 from the person who supplied the executable you are trying to use. This rule was changed a few releases later, but at the time of mcr714 that was the license terms, that the person supplying the executable had to supply mcr714 in a secure manner. Even if you were able to find a public repository to download mcr714 from, it would be against the license terms to use such a copy: it had to be directly from the person who supplied the executable or else from your own MATLAB Compiler licence.
The reasons for this were contractual. Mathworks licensed technology from another company, and the other company put in these restrictions.
Eventually Mathworks either negotiated different rules or bought the technology or switched technology; I never did hear the details.
