I usually use the browser on my phone to interact with ThingSpeak, I can see most of what I need to there. In some cases, Ive written my own web pages for controls I do a lot. Html and Javascript are pretty good to make these kinds of controls. For example I have pet ducks and sometimes I dont want to go let them out in the morning. So I automated the door. Then I wrote a page that shows the controls and the image feed so I can see if opening was successful. Problem can be finding a place to host the page. You can use the plugins in ThingSpeak, but you cant share these publicly.
You can do interesting custom things with scripatble (see this blobg post) but it does require some hand coding.
ThingView and ThingShow both support reading from ThingSpeak, but these are not supported by MathWorks.

Thanks
i currently use the browser both on PC and Safari (iOS) which works well but its a pain searching for them as I keep a lot of tabs open whereas if I ha an app it would be more focussed etc

Apparently you can use the share button in safari on iphone to put a page on the home screen of you iphone! I just did it for my duck control page. Thanks for the inspiration to look that up!
