I understand that you want a “Pilot-Close” Check Valve in Simscape. Since Simscape does not provide an explicit block For “Pilot-Close” Check Valve, you would have to use some complementary control signals or components available to invert the pilot pressure effect in the existing Pilot-Operated Check Valve which caters to the “Pilot-Open” Check Valve.
Here is a possible workaround to emulate the Pilot-Close check valve through the Pilot-Operated check valve:
1. Use a Pilot-Operated Check Valve that opens with a certain constant pilot pressure supplied whenever needed. Please refer to the below documentation to know more about the “Pilot-Operated Check Valve”:
2. Add a “3-Way Directional Valve” to control the pilot line to the check valve so as to regulate the pressure that is being applied to the check valve or vented out into the atmosphere. Please refer to the below documentation to know more about the “3-Way Directional Valve” block:
3. Use a “Pressure Source” block to generate constant pressure for the Pilot-Operated Check Valve. Please refer to the below documentation to know more about the “Pressure Source” block:
4. Connect the 3-Way valve such that one position allows the pilot pressure to the check valve (indicating its open state) while the other position directs it out the atmosphere vent (indicating the close state) since the check valve will close due to lack of pressure.
This approach would allow you to the emulate the desired “Pilot-Close” check valve based on the configuration of the 3-Way Directional Valve for appropriate flow paths and a control system in place to switch the pressure line on the desired conditions.
