Cannot set conformal array as an exciter in antenna toolbox

3 次查看(过去 30 天)
Hello,
I received an error when using Antenna Toolbox which is
em.BackingStructure/set.Exciter
conformalArray cannot be set as an Exciter for the reflector.
I have tried to change the exciter in the "reflector" function to other array such as rectangular array as shown in the example and it works. May I ask whether this is due to conformalArray is not supported in "reflector" function? How can I create an array with reflector that is not limited to simple array such as linear or rectangular? Many thanks.

Hi Zihao,
As per my understanding you can use conformalArray with elements as reflector with tiny dipole and individual patch microstrip element.
Moreover, you can make use of circular array instead.
Also as mentioned in the release notes for R2023a, exciter can be made empty for reflector. Please refer the following release notes:
"Construct and analyze backing structures without exciter"
Hope it helps!
