Server Creation Failed: Server execution failed error while using actxserver ('Excel.Application')

Hi, When invoking actxserver ('Excel.Application') from MATLAB, I'm getting the following error.
Error using feval Server Creation Failed: Server execution failed
Error in actxserver (line 86) h=feval(['COM.' convertedProgID], 'server', machinename, interface);
I tried repairing excel, restarted PC and still the same error.
Matlab Version : R2014a (8.3.0.532) 32-bit (win32)
