Hello there, i'm trying to write to code that involves animating a crank and rod mechanism but i really don't know what to do. could someone help and guide me and provide an example please.

Thank you so much Sebastian, that helped me a lot. Do you have any ideas on how I an get my animation into my code, make it work with functions like increase or decrease the speed or length of the crank. I tried using gui but could not get it to work.

Well, SimMechanics (the tool in the original video) already comes with animation.
If you're planning on using MATLAB to create an animation, there are plenty of online examples from other users. I like this one: http://engineer.john-whittington.co.uk/2013/04/modelling-a-double-pendulum-in-simulink/
