How to override Data Archiving?

I'm using Real Time Target and I run an experiment for 5 minutes and archive the data collected from the experiment. Now if a limit switch is hit, I want the data archiving to stop/break without sending a stop signal to the target so that I don't need to go through the initialization setup of the experiment once again. Unfortunately, I cannot override the Data Archiving while simulation is running.
