I tried to reproduce the issue, but it went in vain, the MATLAB online seems to be working fine for me. You can try signing out and signing in to your account and check if the issue still persists.
It seems like there was some issues with the MATLAB online as shown in https://status.mathworks.com on the day of your query. You can know the statuses of MathWorks application in https://status.mathworks.com .
