How to choose a machine learning algorithm ?

Hi there. I'm a beginner with machine learning so I am sorry for not using the appropriate technical words. I have a set of data of parameters .The output parameter is an integer varying between 1 and 5 I want to use a supervised learning algorithm to train a machine so that I can after the training conclude the output parameter only knowing the other parameters. Can you help me to choose the appropriate algorithm for my problem ?
