I have the numeric output of my code saved to ASCII files. The output is written in scientific notation. How do I change my output to be written in decimal notation, for example, I get 2.4e+000 but I want see 2.4 without having to change make the change in Excel.

How are you doing the writing now? The line(s) of code that are doing the writing would help.

This is what I have:
% save database file
db_fname = ('database.txt');
cd(save_path)
save(db_fname, '-ascii', '-tabs');
eval(['save -ascii -tabs ', db_fname,' database']);
