How can I hide part of the markers behind the x-axis?

Hi all,
See the attached image. I do not like it that the markers are on top of the x-axis. Is there a way to put white below the the axis on top of the markers?
Thanks for your help.
Kind regards, Rudy

I assume you are wanting to crop any part of the markers that lie below the X-axis. While there is no built in method to do this, one workaround may be to vary the circle size of the markers such that markers on the X-axis are smaller.
Alternatively, you can manually make patches to represent your data points which will give you total control over their shape.

set(gca, 'layer', 'top')
