Cannot find file off FTP server?

Trouble downloading off FTP server; says "file" cannot be found on the server.
These is the directory for the files I want to download: <ftp://ftp.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/precip/CPC_UNI_PRCP/GAUGE_GLB/V1.0/1979/>
This is my code for downloading:
f = ftp('ftp.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov','anonymous','roates@nobleagri.com');
cd(f,'/precip/CPC_UNI_PRCP/GAUGE_GLB/V1.0/1979/');
mget(f,'PRCP_CU_GAUGE_V1.0GLB_0.50deg.lnx.19790101.gz')
I've checked with IT and they are certain it should not be firewall related.

When I try, I notice that dir(f) shows no results, as if the directory was empty. Whatever is blocking directory is probably also blocking mget.
