How can I replace EraseMode 'background'?

Hi everyone,
using "set(chld(1), 'EraseMode', 'background')" in my code, I am getting a warning that EraseMode is no longer supported. I have looked up for some solutions, however the only solution/replacement is available for EraseMode 'xor' and 'none'. Any idea how to fix it?
