Difference between a Physical connection and Flexible shaft while connecting SimDriveline blocks?

1 次查看(过去 30 天)
When connecting 2 blocks in SimDriveline which in reality are connected using a solid/hollow shaft. For example: When you connect the gearbox output to differential block, is it better to connect it using normal physical connection (with an inertia) or use a flexible shaft . I know that one can mention the rotational stiffness, inertia and damping inside a Flexible shaft block. What is then the rotational stiffness, damping and inertia of a physical connection when 2 SimDriveline blocks are connected? Please help!

If blocks are directly connected, there is no stiffness, damping, or inertia between the components, and their connected ports will move at the same velocity. If you would like to model compliance between the components, it is necessary to add it via springs and dampers or other blocks.
