Convert vector position to real number

Really simple question, I have the following:
>> vec=[44 3 2 9 11 6]
vec =
44 3 2 9 11 6
>> find(vec>6)
ans =
1 4 5
How do I convert the values into their real number? As in how do I have 44 9 11 show up
