Add nice graphics to a MATLAB plot

Hi I am hoping to add some nice graphics to my MATLAB plots in particular I would like to draw an angle between two lines and add several perpendicular lines. Obviously I have previously just used the 'insert' section of the figure and then line and so forth but I was wondering if there is anyway I could make this look better? Especially for drawing an angle between two lines it works out quite messy.
