bar plot offset from left/right at small sizes

Hello together,
i have an issue with bar plots when they are at a small size (<330px). The bars have a way too big offset from the sides as you can see in the image. Is it possible to change this offset?

xlim([0.5 4.5])
Salt limits to suit based on number of bars and fractional spacing that pleases...
