Problem about using 'plotm' to plot multi maps

I want to use plotm to get pictures like fig.1 and fig.2
fig.1
fig.2
I got fig.1 and fig.2 using plot but plotm doesn't work.
load coast;
axesm miller;
X=lat; Y=long;
X=[X lat];
Y=[Y long-360];
plot(Y,X) % This can work well,and I got fig.1
figure;
plotm(X,Y) % This doesn't work and I only got one map
