How to use eCAP to measure the speed of a motor using Optical encoder in C2000 environment?

I am using optical encoder to measure the speed of induction motor. I do not intend to consider the direction of the motor so utilizing only one signal from encoder. I am using eCAP block to get the pulse duration of the encoder signal. My concern is what the output of the block "TS" will give me? Duration in counts or seconds or it is just the Timestamp(Count value from the start of capture module)?? Thanks in advance.
