Model Ref or Library link default parameters

Hi, I have a large model with many different layers using both library links and model references. I want to find a common way of parameterising my model, while keeping my workspace clean and not having to hide parameters in masks etc. I'd like to be able to design a model (ref or library) and define a set of parameters that this block needs to have defined. But I'd like to then define the parameter once I use the block in a parent model or unit test. I see several ways of doing this, with model reference I can define the parameters in the model workspace then expose them as a model argument, or with librarys I can provide a mask parameter, or even initialise a parameter in the mask to a value stored in a file. The problem I find with this is I still require a lot of workspace parameters for a large model and I still have to manually set each argument or mask parameter to the correct workspace parameter when I use the block in a parent model.

Can anyone advise on the best strategy for a common method of parameterising a large scale model?
