predict function behavior in Matlab regression trees

I have checked the documentation for the eval function that is called by CompactTreebagger to predict using a tree ensemble. This eval function is using a mexed function classregtreeEval to predict using the regression trees, but I can't seem to find any documentation on how this mexed function is predicting. Is it using regression in the node or there is a preset predictor (say average of the observations in the node) that is being used? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks,

It's the average over observations in the node.
