about 2d spaps (smoothing spline)

I have some sparse data points in a 3d space, let's say temperature, humidity and attendance of my class of 100 days. So I have three 100-elements vectors. And I want to estimate a smooth function of temp and hum to predict the attendance. I think this is quite a common problem but I can't use spaps to do it... Any hints?
