Note: you need to go through Sales to request a trial for any MATLAB version other than the current version. It is not possible to use an R2016a toolbox with an older version of MATLAB.

Thank you for your response. But I have already clicked on product trial, it leads to this : Check to see if your university has a campus-wide MATLAB and Simulink license. However, my university does not have any license.

"MathWorks does not offer trial versions of the Student Version of MATLAB and its add-on products to students."
If you are staff instead of student, you might need to get your IT department to request the trial for you. But if you are staff and authorized, then contact Mathworks Sales.
