I've found this example on http://it.mathworks.com/help/rptgen/ug/create-a-table-of-contents.html

* import mlreportgen.dom.*;

d = Document('mydoc','pdf');

open(d);*

but it doesn't work on Matlab 2015b

The error is:

Error using mlreportgen.dom.Document
Invalid format: "pdf"

How can I use 'pdf' extension in Matlab 2015b for Document class?

The direct PDF creation including TOC was added in R2016a.

To generate PDF prior to R2016a, create the document with 'docx' instead of 'pdf' and then at the end use rptview(reportPath,'pdf') to convert to PDF.
