in control it use the word state of system in addition to input and output what does mean of sate of system

for example it use x as input y as output and u as state of system

for example consider a cooling system.
The cooling system takes temperature as input(i.e. x=temperature)
The output of the system is cool air(i.e.y=cool air)
The major thing here is the cool air comes out only when the cooling machine is on state
Depends on the input state of the machine can be either "ON" or "OFF " state
here "ON" and "OFF " are known as state(u) of the system
