Data is not being clipped

My data is plotting beyond the plot surface. I checked to see if the clipping property is set to 'on' and it is indeed set to 'on'. However, my data is plotting beyond the plot surface. I set the clipping to 'on' although it was already set to 'on' and it doesn't work. Anyone solved this problem plz let me know. Thanks........
ax = gca
ax.Clipping = 'on'

Can you make a test plot that illustrates the issue that folks can duplicate? Does it happen for a new plot or only on a given figure/axes?
