Why do I get "PKIX path building failed" whien installing "xilinxzyn​qbasedradi​o.mlpkgins​tall"?

I am trying to install the support package for Xilinx Zynq based radio "xilinxzynqbasedradio.mlpkginstall", but get the following message:
sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target
I tried download the five packages manually and placing them in the download directory (C:\MATLAB\SupportPackages\R2016a\downloads\xilinxzynqbasedradio_download) before reattempting, to no avail:
  • ad936x-filter-wizard-29fb32fc60aaa5035e1a6876b6749add50cb394f.zip
  • axilkm_retail_common.zip
  • fpgahdl_xilinx-ad_fmcomms1_ebz_edk_14_4_2013_04_04.zip
  • hdl-0021c7869d7295582e9812ad2578dd1c7dce9994.zip
  • ZynqBinaries.zip
I am using Matlab R2016a, with elevated privileges, and double clicking on the installer file from within Matlab.
