I have matlab r2011a installer. I have migrated from windows to ubuntu.How can i install matlab on ubuntu

Note that there is a _different_ installer for Linux.

hope this helps. I have been able to run MATLAB on UBUNTU using the above steps..

after giving the path to my installation folder it said command not found.
I have an .exe installer.will i have to get another version for matlab

Prateek, the .exe version of the setup is only for Windows. You need to download the Unix version of MATLAB from the MAthworks website.
Login to my Account > Left side unbder "My Downloads" click "Get licensed products and updates"> Select under the platforms to download either Linux 64 bit or Linux 32 bit depending on your platform.
