why subtract pi/2 in SVPWM Generator (2-Level)？

In the SVPWM Generator (2-Level),when look inside mask,there is a "Determine reference vector" block,before outputting alpha signal, it subtract pi/2 then mod with 2*pi , but why subtract pi/2? thanks a lot for giving answer!!
