Unzip,append and save

I have a program, it read a txt file and get the informations. . But i have almost 50 files. . I need increase the program, at begin he unzip the file and at the end he save the information, back to beginning and unzip the second file, and at the end it saves in the same file(like a sequence), and do it until the last file. It,s like a routine . Like: unzip ..... [

program(already done)

] save(i think i need use a append) and delete de original file and back to beginning . I have ubuntu 10.4 LTS and Matlab 7.6.0

Ps: My english is not to good
