Export Detected Edges on Geotiff image to shapefile format

Dear all,
I am looking a way for export detected edges on image. There is lots of way to find edges on image but no way or explanation how to export them out of matlab software (ie. x,y pixels, areas, perimeters) as a line.
Briefly, I would like to use detected edges on geotiff image with world coordinate. Overlay or export these detected edges on shapefile format.
For example detected edges of building from aerial image, then export the boundary of building (lines) with shapefile format.
