About compiling c++ code to save data as matlab format in windows

Hi there, I find a code to create *.mat in c++ at https://www.mathworks.com/help/matlab/matlab_external/creating-a-mat-file-in-c.html

I am trying to compile the code in mingw compile under windows 10 (64bit). My matlab is 64 bits. But I got the error about undefined reference to `matOpen'. I think it is because the compiler didn't find the related library. I try to link this library "MatLAB\extern\lib\win64\mingw64\libmat.lib" into my project but it still doesn't work, same error. Any one has idea how to fix it? Thanks.
