An image contains a fire region and apple.How to recognize only fire ,since both contains similar colors.

An image contains a fire region and apple.How to recognize only fire ,since both contains similar colors. I am using LAB color space.I could retrive all the objects which are near by to red color.But I need to recognise only fire but not the other red objects
